Pennsylvania

School fundraisers in Pennsylvania, from Philly to Pittsburgh and every borough between.

Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Allentown, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Erie, Scranton. Most districts open the last week of August, so the fall window is a clean September.

The Pennsylvania calendar and the two-week window

Pennsylvania has five hundred school districts and most of them open in the last full week of August. Some open the Monday before Labor Day and a few wait until the day after. The fall window is the same across all of them. Let the first week of school settle, launch in the second week of September, close in the first week of October, deliver before Halloween. Send Brian the district calendar and he will build the sale backward from your first day, around the book fair and back-to-school night.

  • ✓Fall. The second week of September through the first week of October. Closed before the first marking period ends.
  • ✓Fall, post-Labor Day districts. The third week of September through the second week of October. Delivery before Thanksgiving.
  • ✓Spring. The first week of February through the first week of March. PSSA testing starts in April and Keystones follow in May, so the spring sale is done before both.

Where Brian works in Pennsylvania

The School District of Philadelphia, the largest in the state, and the suburban districts around it, Central Bucks, North Penn, Council Rock, Pennsbury, Downingtown and West Chester. Pittsburgh Public Schools with North Allegheny, Mt. Lebanon, Upper St. Clair and Seneca Valley nearby. Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and the Lehigh Valley, including Parkland. Harrisburg, Cumberland Valley and the Capital Region. Lancaster, Reading, York, Erie, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, State College, Altoona, Williamsport and the small borough districts across the middle of the state. Public districts, charters, Catholic and diocesan schools and independent academies all run the same program.

Band, chorus and cheer in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania marching bands compete in circuits that run from September to the championships in early November, and the fees, buses and camp balances come due in September. Competitive spirit is a sanctioned high school sport here with a state championship in January, so cheer squads need the money in the fall. Chorus and band programs audition for district and regional festivals in the winter and All-State in the spring.

A fall sale that closes by the first week of October covers the marching season and the cheer season in one shot. Spring sales fund the spring trip, the musical and next fall’s uniforms.

Any sport, any size. Same program, same person on the phone.

Zero upfront cost, no minimum order, and the fall and spring catalogs are different products, so a school can run both. Brian ships the kickoff packet and the share links before launch day, writes the kickoff, reads the numbers on day seven and calls the coordinator with the midpoint push. The VIP Duck collectibles and the prize program keep the kids motivated without anyone keeping a spreadsheet. The day-by-day version is on how it works.

Shipping to Pennsylvania schools

Giving Market ships pre-sorted orders to the school about two weeks after close, sorted by student so distribution takes one afternoon. Online store orders ship direct to supporters anywhere in the country, so the grandparents in Florida and the cousins in Jersey get their boxes at home. Fall orders ship in October before the weather turns. Brian tracks every shipment from Greensboro and handles any shortage himself.

Pennsylvania is part of the Mid-Atlantic region. Fall 2026 was forty sales and more than $700,000, every one run from one desk.

Questions people ask

When should a Pennsylvania school run its fall sale?

The second week of September through the first week of October. The kickoff packet ships before school opens, the sale launches once the first week of school is behind you, and delivery lands before Halloween.

Our district starts after Labor Day. Does that change anything?

Launch the third week of September and close the second week of October. Brian builds the calendar backward from your first day.

And the spring?

February through early March, before PSSA testing in April and Keystone exams in May. The spring catalog is a different set of products, so a school can run both.

Does the online store help in a commuter district?

It is the whole game there. Parents share a link at work and with family in Jersey or Ohio, and the box ships to the buyer. Nobody carries a case on the train.
