Tennessee
School fundraisers in Tennessee, timed around fall break.
Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga, the Tri-Cities. Tennessee goes back in early August and takes a week off in October. Brian plans the sale between the two.
The Tennessee calendar and the two-week window
Tennessee schools open early. Most districts start in the first or second week of August, and a few open in the last days of July. Then almost every district in the state takes a full week off in early or mid October. That break is the hinge of the whole fall, and Brian builds the sale on one side of it or the other.
- ✓Fall, first window. The last week of August through the middle of September. Closed, shipped and delivered before fall break. This is the one to book.
- ✓Fall, second window. The two weeks right after fall break, into early November. Delivery lands before Thanksgiving.
- ✓Spring. The last week of January through the end of February. Spring break comes in March and TCAP testing fills April, so the spring sale closes before either.
Districts set their own break dates. Knox County and Hamilton County do not match Shelby County, and Williamson County does its own thing. Send Brian the district calendar and he will send back the dates.
Where Brian works in Tennessee
Memphis-Shelby County Schools, the largest district in the state. Metro Nashville Public Schools and the counties around it, Rutherford, Williamson, Sumner and Wilson. Knox County and Knoxville. Hamilton County and Chattanooga. Montgomery County and Clarksville. Kingsport, Johnson City, Bristol and the Tri-Cities. Jackson, Murfreesboro, Franklin, Cookeville, Cleveland and the small county systems between. District schools, charters, Catholic schools and independent academies all run the same program.
Band, chorus and cheer in Tennessee
This is Music City’s state and the school music programs show it. Marching bands fill every Saturday in October with contests across Middle and East Tennessee, and the entry fees, buses and camp balances come due in September. Chorus programs audition for All-State in the fall and perform at the state conference in April. Cheer squads fundraise for competition travel that starts in the winter.
All of it fits the first fall window. Launch the last week of August, close by mid September, and the booster account is funded before the first Saturday contest. Spring sales cover the next season’s uniforms and the spring trip.
What Brian does, and what you do
Brian builds the calendar around your district dates, sets up the online store, ships the kickoff packet and the share links before launch day, writes the kickoff script, reads the numbers on day seven and calls the coordinator with the midpoint push. On delivery day he is on the phone if a box is short.
You run a five-minute kickoff on the announcements or at the first PTA meeting and send the link home. The VIP Duck collectibles keep the kids chasing the next level and the prize program tracks itself in the admin site, so nobody at the school keeps a spreadsheet. Zero upfront cost, no minimum order, and the fall and spring catalogs are different products, so a school can run both. Elementary and middle schools, PTAs, PTOs, bands, choruses, cheer squads and booster clubs all run the same program. The day-by-day version is on how it works.
Shipping to Tennessee schools
Giving Market ships pre-sorted orders to the school about two weeks after close. Online store orders ship direct to supporters anywhere in the country, so the grandparents in Kentucky and the cousins in Texas get their boxes at home. Brian tracks every shipment from Greensboro and handles any shortage himself.
Tennessee is part of the Southeast region, where most of Brian’s fall 2026 sales ran. Forty sales, more than $700,000, every one run from one desk.

Questions people ask
When should a Tennessee school run its fall sale?
The last week of August through the middle of September, closed and delivered before fall break. That is the cleanest window in the state and Brian books it first.
Can we run after fall break instead?
Yes. The two weeks right after the break, into early November, work for schools that missed September. Delivery lands before Thanksgiving.
And the spring?
Late January through February, before spring break in March and TCAP testing in April. Book by early January to get the dates you want.
Does Brian work with Memphis and Nashville schools?
Yes. Memphis-Shelby County and Metro Nashville are the two biggest districts in the state and both run the same program. Big rosters are what the online store was built for.
