Virginia schools in the fall 2026 results
Goode
Elementary, 200 students, $12,000, September 17 to October 2. A small school with a big result.
Virginia Beach
Two elementary schools, $17,000 combined, September 16 through October 23. The online store did most of the work.
Both are on the results page with the rest of the forty-sale fall. Goode is a Bedford County town of a few thousand people. The school had 200 kids and raised $12,000 in two weeks. Size does not decide the result. The plan does.
When Virginia schools start, and when to sell
For decades Virginia law required public schools to open after Labor Day. The General Assembly dropped that rule in 2019, and divisions can now open up to two weeks before the holiday. Most of them did move. Fairfax, Loudoun, Chesterfield, Henrico and Virginia Beach all open in the second half of August now, and a few divisions still open the day after Labor Day. Check your division calendar and Brian will build the sale backward from it.
- ✓Fall, August divisions. Mid September through the first week of October. Goode and Virginia Beach ran exactly that window.
- ✓Fall, post-Labor Day divisions. The third week of September through the second week of October, with delivery before Thanksgiving.
- ✓Spring. The first week of February through the first week of March, before spring break and the SOL testing window in May.
Where Brian works in Virginia
Hampton Roads first. Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Newport News, Hampton and Suffolk. Richmond and the Henrico, Chesterfield and Hanover districts around it. Northern Virginia, where Fairfax County is one of the ten largest school districts in the country and Loudoun, Prince William, Arlington and Alexandria sit beside it. Lynchburg, Bedford County and the Goode area. Roanoke, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Fredericksburg and the Shenandoah Valley. City divisions, county divisions, Catholic schools and independent academies.
Band, chorus and cheer in Virginia
Virginia marching bands run a fall assessment season that peaks in late October, and the fees and bus money come due in September. Competition cheer is a fall sport in Virginia with a state championship in November, so cheer squads need the money early. District chorus auditions land in the fall and All-State in the spring.
A fall sale that closes by the first week of October pays for all of it. Band trips in the spring get funded by the same sale, with the check in hand before the deposit is due.
What a Virginia sale looks like
The kickoff
A script for morning announcements or the first PTA meeting, a packet in every backpack, a share link in every inbox, all shipped before launch day.
The store
Families share one link. Supporters in any state order from a phone and the box ships to their door, so nobody hauls product to the office.
The midpoint
Day seven, Brian reads the numbers and calls the coordinator with exactly who to nudge. That call is where most of the second-week money comes from.
The prizes
VIP Duck collectibles during the sale and a cumulative prize program tracked in the admin site. Kids chase the next level on their own.
Zero upfront cost, no minimum order, and the fall and spring catalogs are different products, so a school can run both in one year. The full day-by-day version is on how it works.
Shipping to Virginia schools
Giving Market ships pre-sorted orders to the school about two weeks after close. Online store orders ship direct to supporters, which matters in a state where half the families moved here from somewhere else. Grandparents in Ohio order from a phone and the box goes to Ohio. Brian tracks every shipment from Greensboro and handles any shortage himself.
Virginia is part of the Southeast region, where most of Brian’s fall 2026 sales ran.

Questions people ask
Our division starts after Labor Day. Can we still run a fall sale?
Yes. Launch the third week of September and close the first week of October. The kickoff packet ships before school opens so day one is ready to go.
When do most Virginia schools run the fall sale?
Divisions that open in August run mid September to the first week of October. Goode and Virginia Beach both ran September 16 or 17 through October 2 or 3 this fall.
What about the spring?
February through early March, ahead of spring break and SOL testing in May. The spring catalog is a different set of products, so a school can run both.
Does Brian work with Northern Virginia schools?
Yes. Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, Arlington and Alexandria all run the same program. The online store is the whole game in a commuter county.
